Today’s the day they take it all away from us.
Have you ever discovered an awesome restaurant or bar right before it got shut down. Maybe it had financial problems or it just didn’t have what it took to be a successful establishment. But a month before it closed, you found out they serve the best Chicken Vindaloo you have ever had. That’s never happened to me (but I might have to get some Indian food soon, just in case), but I imagine that it would feel a lot like the end of Luck. Just when the show has become something that I could really get excited about, something that I would bug all my friends who “don’t watch TV” about, it gets pulled out from underneath us. The Ace Is Back in Place
Dear Kathryn,
First, congratulations on becoming a professor this week. I’m still trying to get #mydaughter/sisteriseaprofessoroftheologyatfordhamuniversityinnewyorkcity to become a trending topic, but it seems to be a little rough. Anyways, congratulations.
Before I start talking about episode 2, I want to mention that I am really starting to like the theme song. I have never listened to Massive Attack much, but this song is making me want to listen more. The opening credits struck me as kind of boring at first, but I can really get into the groove of the song now.
Anyways, my first thought about this episode was, “huh, I don’t remember seeing any african americans on the show.” From only two episodes, it does seem to be a predominantly white male show. I don’t trust anyone, not even myself.
Dear Kathryn,
First let me say, “Thank you” to you and Natalie for inviting me to be a guest blogger on The Moth Chase. I feel quite confident that I am the least academic writer that TMC has had. I have only one degree, and while I am very proud of it, I am sometimes worried that I will get a letter that says, “Mr. Reklis, after reviewing your college transcript, we have realized that you probably just faked it for about 3 and half years and then cruised through a light load in Communications. We are going to have to take your degree away.” Anyways, I am happy that because I joined in the chorus of boos (actually not so much “boo” as, “We’re disappointed in you!
